JOB SUMMARY: The Unit-Based Educator serves as an educator/learning facilitator, change agent/collaborator, leader, communicator, advisor/mentor, and researcher/consultant to assigned unit(s)/program and other areas within the health system as deemed necessary. This person ensures optimal patient outcomes through clinical and professional leadership and role-modeling, coaching, consultation, collaboration, education, and quality improvement initiatives. The Clinical Educator will conduct needs assessments, employ needed evidence-based educational activities and programs, evaluate effectiveness and appropriateness of education activities and programs, oversee initial and ongoing competency progress, maintain documentation for educational records, and perform other education related assignments as directed by the Director of Education. Application of adult learning principles and the use of a variety of teaching and learning styles must be evident in all educational activities and programs. Clinical Educators will be knowledgeable of how to communicate and interact with individuals of all age groups while being sensitive to their cultural and religious beliefs and generational differences.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Skills: Bachelor's degree in nursing from an accredited non-online institution required or enrolled and completed within 2 years. Master's degree in nursing or adult education preferred.
Work Experience: Minimum of two years of clinical nursing experience required.
Certification/Licensure-DUE UPON HIRE
